Details
Experience Elmley's wide range of wildlife on one of our Land Rover or Walking Safaris and Tours, and access parts of the reserve not available to the public. Your guide will tailor the exact route according to the best wildlife activity around at that time and ground conditions. Nature's unpredictability is part of the magic of watching wildlife, you never really know what is around the corner!
Each tour is at a gentle walking pace with several stops but a moderate level of fitness is required. Please ensure you have weather appropriate clothing, water and enclosed sturdy shoes, as well as sun-cream and hats when the weather allows.
Your ticket includes entry to the reserve around your Tour time, so please feel free to self-guide on our routes.
Dusk Experiences
Dusk on the reserve can be absolutely incredible. Depending on the season, as the sun sets you will be able to witness Marsh Harriers soaring back to their single reedbed roosts, Hobbys snatching up dragonflies, owls hunting, Peregrine falcons whizzing past and dancing Bearded Reedlings, against orange blue skies.
Wildlife Wander
Enjoy a late morning stroll with out Guides, visiting the best areas for the time of year.
Guided Bird Hide Experience
Join our Nature Reserve Warden and/or Nature Guide for a guided birdwatching session around some of the Reserve's bird hides. The hides are some of the best places on the Reserve to watch birds, and your guide will take you the identification and behaviour of the species on view, as well as explaining how this important part of the Reserve is managed.
Whilst enjoying the vast marshland landscape, you can soak in some of nature’s ‘goodness’ with your very own guide and binoculars to help you along the way.
