Children's February Activities: Owl Watch & Fat Ball Making

Winter is here, and it is about time that we help our feathery friends feed up for the winter! Abbie and Fiona, our in-house guides will be taking families out on the Reserve to look for up to four species of owl, followed by bird fat ball making to hang up in our woodland walk. We will provide all of the equipment and materials required, therefore all you will need are some comfortable walking shoes, warm clothing and creativity!

During each session, there will be a maximum of eight children, therefore please keep this in mind when booking. This will give the little ones a chance to make new friends and memories!

Please check the timings for each day, as they may vary.

Suitable for children between 3 and 14 years old, each child must have purchased a ticket.

Please note all children must be accompanied by an adult who must purchase an entrance ticket for the reserve.

When the duration of activity is mentioned, it is an approximate measure and your experience may differ on the day
If anything changes, your guide will contact you with any changes
Please note that we cannot guarantee any wildlife sightings on tours and activities
Tours and activities are non-refundable and non-transferable, unless there are extenuating circumstance, which is at the discretion of the tour guide and Elmley representatives
Cancellation of the tour due to weather conditions is at the guide's discretion. If we judge that the tour or activity is not possible due to very poor weather conditions the guide will contact you to go ahead to rearrange or process a refund.
Bookings can be rescheduled up to 48 hours prior to the date of tour booking, but may incur an admin fee
Please ensure that little ones are wearing sensible and comfortable walking footwear and weather appropriate outwear (Elmley is an exposed coastal site so prepare for all weathers regardless of the forecast).
Please ensure you come prepared with drinking water and warmer weather suitable for colder temperatures
Elmley reserve the right to ask any participant to leave, should their behaviour be deemed inappropriate, or unsafe. In such case, refunds will not be given.
It is your responsibility to inform us of any medical conditions in advance, that we should be aware of, including dietary requirements of any little ones!
We reserve the right to cancel your activity should you arrive more than 10 minutes after the start time. In this circumstance we will not refund or reschedule. If the tour goes ahead, this time will be deducted from your tour and no partial refund will be issued.
Please note that the wildlife moves across the reserve depending on tides, weather and prey so routes may change and no single spots can be guaranteed.
